Although they continue to add original content, among the competition, Netflix continues to lead the ON DEMAND market. Which one do we recommend?
All those Hollywood stars and the world that were once unattainable for being part of the most expensive sets, of productions that could be enjoyed on a weekend matinee, are now closer than ever. As the fiction and non-fiction giants continue their war to embrace the streaming market, we can only think: well, more for me.
The problem is that we are at a point where it is really difficult to choose. For this reason, we have reviewed the pros and cons of the seven best streaming platforms so that you can decide which one best suits your preferences: Paramount +, Prime Video, Disney +, Netflix, MovistarPlay, HBO Max, or AtresMediaPlayer?
Some have had mistakes in their early days (Disney+) & others still couldn’t be called a movie warehouse (Paramount+). There are those that have so much to offer that it gives a migraine to find something to watch (Netflix) and those that are included in the package at an affordable price (Movistar Play). This premium package is the only one that has Ultra HD resolution, which is why young people definitely prefer it. They pay for the service between several and they get around 11 soles per head.
So convenient that you could take advantage of and pay for another very similar best streaming platform, like HBO GO for example, which has more or less the same interface aesthetics.
Content. With so many R-rated movies (sex and violence), the most beefed-up thing you could have is your parental control system.
Netflix may offer movie blocking options or age restrictions per profile, but with the 3,931 movies and 1,818 TV shows (in its US catalog) that you can have on the site, it’s a bit tricky to keep track of trailers for the premiere and semi-nude covers in some 18+ movies.
The next alternative is to be present every time your daughter or son takes control of the device and only allow them to enter the Netflix for kids tab.
The bad thing is that, if they are Disney fans, they have already lost in that sense, because Maleficent, Frozen, and all their other productions were withdrawn to be included in the Disney Plus platform.
Popularity. With its more than 200 thousand users at the end of last year, thanks to the pandemic, Netflix is a hype, a boom to get excited about in a big way, and its content is so diverse and international that many people have sought to spend their vacations in the countries they saw in the stories.
And this can only be verified by taking a look at the most popular stars in its content, such as Wagner Moura (“Sergio” – Brazil), María Pedraza (“Toy Boy” – Elite), Mariana Treviño (“100 days to fall in love” – Mexico), Noah Centineo (“The perfect date” – United States).
Really the most interesting thing about Netflix is the design and the versatility of consumption and by this, I mean buttons to “skip intro” or to have the facility to start the next chapter with “start such an episode.”
It seems so obvious if you are in the habit of using it, but other sites, such as Movistar Play and AtresPlayer, have not implemented one of the two options in all their content.
